Congressman Jim Gerlach, who represents parts of
and Berks Counties, has dropped out of the race
for governor and will run for re-election to congress.
He was hoping to challenge Attorney General Tom
Corbett in the Republican primary election, but he says the million dollars he
has raised is not enough for a competitive campaign. He says he believes he can not only hold the
seat, but also play a major role in helping Republicans regain control of the U.S.
House of Representatives.
