Former Pioneer Kratz All-Star Again

KratzFormer Christopher Dock Pioneer Erik Kratz will be a part of Wednesday night's International League All-Star game in Salt Lake City, Utah. It's the third straight All-Star appearance for the Telford native. Kratz represented the Pittsburgh Pirate organization in the previous two. It was in last year's All-Star game in Allentown  where the catcher was informed that he had been recalled by the Pirates, his first trip to the Major Leagues as a nine year pro. Kratz played in nine games, driving in a run. This is the 31 year-old's first season as a Lehigh Valley IronPig where he is hitting .289 with 12 HR's and 34 RBI's. He will be joined by fellow IronPig pitchers Mike Zagurski and Michael Schwimer.
