Three Charter School Applications Nixed in NPSD

The North Penn School Board has rejected three charter school applications.   The votes against Montgomery Flex, Education for New Generations and the North Penn Charter School Collaborative were unanimous.   The district solicitor identified several deficiencies with each application and said they did not meet criteria established by the Pennsylvania Charter School Law.   The applications can be resubmitted or the school board vote could be appealed before state education officials.   District officials say the three charter schools would cost about seven million dollars in their first year.
