The ribbon was cut Saturday on the new Fine Arts Gallery at Souderton Area High School.   It features a collection of paintings by local artists Walter Baum and Theodore Hallman.   Hallman was a student of Baum and both artists are known for their use of color in depicting the bucolic landscapes of Bucks and Montgomery Counties.   Larry Grim, the grandson of Walter Baum and Ted Hallman, the son of Theodore Hallman, participated in the ribbon cutting.   Univest Bank made a donation that was used to purchase the lighting for the gallery.   The ribbon cutting ceremony was part of the Homecoming Weekend celebration at Souderton Area High School.

Quakertown School District officials are investigating threats made at their Freshmen Center as well as at Neidig Elementary School.   Police were on hand Thursday and Friday after the words "Bomb Friday" were found at the Freshman Center and the message "I will bring a gun to school" turned up at the elementary school.   Both were found in restrooms.   A search turned up nothing in either facility and officials at this point believe both incidents were pranks.

A student has been found dead at Delaware Valley College near Doylestown.
