Neshaminy School District officials are thinking about closing at least three elementary schools.   Declining enrollment has left 800 classroom seats vacant.   Closing the schools would require the district borrow money for either additions at the remaining schools or the construction of a new consolidated school.   District officials say they will know by the end of the school year which facilities will be closing.

The Lansdale Zoning Hearing Board has approved plans by Lansdale Catholic High School to put an electronic sign outside the school, at Seventh Street and Lansdale Avenue.

It was time to reflect and reminisce as the North Penn School Board Thursday night met for the 1,000th time since the founding of the district almost 50-years ago.   Fifteen former board members and board secretaries attended the millenium session.   They were honored with a reception before the meeting as well as with a special presentation at the start.   The 15 former board members and secretaries have logged almost 160-years of community service between them.   More than 80 school board members have been elected to serve the community as volunteers since the formation of the district.
