Keystone Exams Coming
North Penn Assistant Superintendent of Schools Diane Holben says new exams will replace the now-familiar PSSA’s.
“Instead of giving an eleventh grade PSSA Test as they have done for the last ten years, they are going to require students to take the new Keystone Exams. These exams are being phased in as a graduation requirement. The students who are currently in high school will not have them as a graduation requirement, but will need to take them in lieu of the PSSA’s, and those will count for Adequate Yearly Progress for the high school.”
Doctor Holben says the Keystone Exams concentrate on specific courses, and the three for the 2012-2013 school year are Algebra One, English Literature and Biology rather than broader generic math, English and science tests.
