The North Penn School Board is moving ahead with renovation plans for Hatfield and Montgomery Elementary Schools.

Board President Vince Sherpinsky says they are acting now to meet an October deadline for state reimbursement, which will be substantial.

“With the current estimate the projects could be worth anywhere from $3.5 to $4 million.  The cost to move ahead with the planning process is roughly $240,000 to $280,000 per school.”

The cost of renovating both schools is estimated at about $35 million.  Sherpinsky says both buildings will get complete makeovers inside and out with new roofs, floors, windows, cafeterias, kitchens, lighting and heating and air conditioning.
