Pennridge School Board And Teachers Agree on Four Year Contract
For more than a year teachers in the Pennridge School District and the Pennridge School Board were at odds over a new contract. Those issues were resolved last night when the board voted to agree with a non-binding arbitration award to the teachers. The new four year deal starts with a pay freeze for the first year, and pay increases for the three remaining years of the deal. A starting salary of nearly 39-thousand will increase to just over 40-grand in the fourth year of the new contract. The cost of teacher salaries in the Pennridge district will move from 38-and-half million dollars to nearly 42-million dollars by the end of the accord.
