NP Committee Eyes New Fees

dollarThe North Penn School Board Finance Committee is looking at ways to help balance the budget by charging parents for supplies the school district pays for now. They could include pencils, crayons, highlighters, composition books and post-it notes, among other things.  The committee is also looking at charging students $100 a year to park in the high school parking lot, raising ticket prices for plays and other events, and charging an activity fee for students who play sports or take part in other activities, such as band or theater.  The district could waive fees and continue buying supplies for low-income students.
