MCCC Tuition Hike Coming

mcccMontgomery County Community College President Karen Stout says students will have to pay higher tuition in the fall because of cuts in state funding, but it’s too soon to say how much. She says they have little choice about a tuition hike, but they will try to keep it small.  Under Governor Tom Corbett’s proposed budget, the college will lose about $1.9 million.  Doctor Stout says they have been practicing efficiency and keeping the budget lean for some time, and the state funding cuts will be hard to absorb.
