The Perkiomen Valley School Board has unanimously ratified a new contract with the teachers’ union. The vote came Monday night, just hours after union members approved it.  The deal gives teachers pay raises of about 9 percent over a three-year period with a little more than 2.5 percent in the first year, 3.2 percent in the second year and 3.35 percent in the third year.  They have a choice of two health insurance plans.  In the more expensive one their contributions to the premiums increase to 15 percent by the third year, and in the less expensive one their contributions increase to 10 percent by the third year.
