The West Norriton Township Commissioners have approved plans for a new multi-purpose sports stadium at Norristown Area High School. They also approved reconstruction plans for Eagle Drive, the long driveway that goes from Whitehall Road to the school parking lot.  The stadium will have an eight-lane running track and seating for 2,500 spectators.  It will cost the taxpayers $1.2 million, supplemented by private fundraising.  Construction should start in the spring, and it could be ready for use in September of next year.
