Methacton Teachers, School Board, Reach Tentative Agreement
School’s in for students and teachers in the Methacton district.
Negotiators for the school board and teachers union have agreed to put a state mediator’s recommended contract agreement up for a vote, averting a strike that was set for today. Details of the tentative contract agreement have not been released. Methacton Education Association President Diana Kernop says she owes it to her members to take the contract to them for a vote, and she recommends that they approve it. The school board should vote on the contract at its next meeting on Tuesday, October 26. Union members will vote on it on an undisclosed date before then. The issues have been wages and benefits since the old contract expired on June 30 of last year.
