Doylestown OK’s Public Breast Feeding

Doylestown Borough Council has passed an ordinance protecting a woman’s right to breast-feed her baby in public.

It lets the woman file a complaint with the local Human Relations Commission if a business owner or employee asks her to leave, cover up or go to the restroom.

Councilwoman Marlene Pray said it would ensure that a breast-feeding woman could not be cited for indecent exposure.  Councilwoman Joan Doyle, who voted against it, said it was toothless and it will be a burden for business owners.
