Hatfield Twp Getting LED’s

The Hatfield Township Commissioners plan to replace old light bulbs with Light-Emitting Diodes, or LED’s, which provide more light for less money. They have approved a contract with a company that will replace and retrofit fixtures inside and outside the police station, in and around School Road Park and in a few parking lots.  The contract is for nearly $27,000, but Township Manager Andrew Haines says the LED’s should pay for themselves through savings on electric bills in about 15 months, thanks in part to an energy-saving incentive from their electric supplier, PPL.
