Lansdale Street Project In Line For Possible Grant

road_constructionA Lansdale project has made the short list for Community Development Block Grants. The borough wants the Montgomery County Commissioners to approve a $200,000 grant to pay for rebuilding West Fourth Street between Broad and Walnut.  The money comes from Washington, but the commissioners approve the most worthy projects based on federal guidelines.  They will vote on it later this summer.  Director of Utilities Jake Ziegler says the grant will cover all construction costs, but the borough has to put up a little money for engineering and design work.  If the project is approved construction should take about a year.
