New Farm Market Regulations On Hold In Montco

veggiesMontgomery County officials say the health department will handle farmers’ markets the same way it did last summer, despite a new state law that tightens restrictions on them. For example, a 15-page application form the department circulated earlier would have required food vendors to have a hot-water sink on site, but now they will be allowed to continue sharing sinks.  It would have also required each vendor to have a license, where in the past only the market operator needed a license, but for now the rules remain as they were and the Montgomery County Health Department will continue talking with farm market operators about ways to protect the public health.
