Panel Stands Behind Digital Sign Ban
The Telford Borough Council Planning and Zoning Committee is standing behind a ban on digital electronic signs, which council passed about two years ago.
The local volunteer fire company asked council for permission to replace its old sign with a new electronic one, but the committee decided the ban should remain. At a recent meeting, Councilman Jeff Maxwell said if they changed the rule for the fire company they would have to allow similar signs at other locations. Councilwoman Carolyn Crouthamel dissented, saying they could allow the signs in some cases, but with restrictions.
