N Wales Looking At Trash Amendment
North Wales Borough Council is considering a measure requiring all residents to have a certified hauler remove their trash at least once a week.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection says the borough would lose recycling money it gets now if it fails to amend its trash ordinance to make removal mandatory. Towamencin Township approved a similar amendment recently, but with a provision allowing residents to continue any trash-sharing arrangements they have. For example, it lets senior citizens dispose of trash along with a neighbor or family member.
