Newtown Township Supervisor Rob Ciervo wants to succeed Bucks County Commissioner Jim Cawley when the Lieutenant Governor-Elect goes to Harrisburg in January. He says he will submit his name to the Bucks County Republican Party Executive Committee for screening.  The committee will pick three names and give them to the judges, who will appoint the new commissioner.  Northampton Supervisor George Komelasky and Lower Southampton Supervisor John McMenamin submitted their names earlier, and County Clerk of Courts Mary Smithson’s name has been mentioned, but she has not said she wants the job.  Ciervo says he’s a fiscal conservative, but he is not aligned with the Tea Party movement.
