GOP Fares Well In Legislative Races

Mensch defeated Democrat Bob Wallace at the polls. In other state senate races veteran Republican Stewart Greenleaf had no problem defeating his Democratic opponent, former Montgomery County Commissioner Ruth Damsker. Republican State Senators John Rafferty and Chuck McIlhinney also won re-election.
Democratic State Representative Rick Taylor lost to Republican Todd Stephens in Montgomery County’s 151st District, which is mostly in Horsham and Montgomery Townships and Ambler Borough. Stephens lost to Taylor by about 400 votes two years ago, but he won Tuesday by about 1,400. In the 70th district, which stretches from Lower Salford to Norristown, incumbent Democrat Matt Bradford held off a challenge from the man he unseated two years ago, Republican Jay Moyer. Incumbent Republicans Marci Toepel, Bob Godshall, Kate Harper, Mike Vereb, Paul Clymer, Bernie O’Neill, Kathy Watson and Marguerite Quinn all won re-election.
