13th District Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz says she is a Moderate Democrat while her Republican opponent, Abington Businessman Dee Adcock, has taken positions that are far from moderate on many issues, including Social Security. “He says privatize Social Security and he says we should dismantle Medicare.  He says we should repeal this healthcare bill, and he doesn’t even support protecting children and making sure that the insurance companies cover pre-existing conditions for children, and there’s pretty strong support for that.  He wants to end stem cell research, he wants to end access to abortion in any case.  That’s a pretty extreme view.”

Schwartz says Adcock’s positions go far beyond cutting spending and reducing the size of government.  She says he supports dismantling most of the protections that are in place for senior citizens and children.  The 13th District is about half in Montgomery County and half in Northeast Philadelphia.  Schwartz appeared Tuesday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
