Norristown Council is asking the State Department of Community and Economic Development to conduct a study to determine the best way to close one of the five fire stations in the municipality. Council President William Caldwell says there is probably some duplication with five stations, and he supports whatever makes the most economic sense.  Norristown has a combination of volunteers and paid firefighters.
