Sestak Backs Cap And Trade
“There’s 200 years of coal that we can dig in for America, and once we’ve developed the technology for the better scrubbing to capture the bad emissions and put them underground, we don’t make the consumers or the coal industry pay for that. There’s a cap and trade where you have to buy the right to pollute because you’re living in a county that’s in violation of ozone standards and air particles.”
Sestak says the cap and trade legislation will cost homeowners a little more in the short run, but save them on energy costs by the year 2020. Sestak is a Democrat running against Republican Pat Toomey for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Arlen Specter. He Says Toomey opposes cap and trade legislation because he is very much in the pocket of the big oil companies.
