Lawmakers Pass PA Budget

dollarThe Pennsylvania House and Senate have approved a budget for the fiscal year that starts Thursday, July 1, But Governor Ed Rendell says he won’t sign it until other related bills, including a revenue bill, are on his desk. That could take a few days.  The $28 billion budget does not raise taxes, but it relies heavily on federal money that congress has not yet approved.  It cuts spending in many areas, but increases basic education spending by $250 million.
