Upper Gwynedd Twp. Police Dept. Unveils New Slogan
“To Protect and Serve” and “Duty, Service, and Integrity” are some notable police department slogans around the region and nation. Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department unveiled a new slogan that serves a message to the people it protects. Sergeant John Brinkmann says, the upper Gwynedd Township Police Department’s new slogan is “community first”
“Talk amongst our officers and higher ups, we came up with a slogan that basically sums up what we do in Upper Gwynedd Township, and that is to serve the community to best of our abilities. It’s important to put the communities concerns at the forefront when performing our duties.”
The “community first” slogan is now visible on the front bumper of all Upper Gwynedd Township Police vehicles.
Man Hears Noise, Then Sees Side of House on Fire
Five fire companies respond to a house fire Sunday evening, just after six in Upper Gwynedd Township on Wissahickon Avenue. Fire officials say a 31-year-old man was able to escape the blaze. The man, who rents a second floor room in the home, heard a noise. When he looked outside he saw flames on the side of the house. Fire officials are still investigating the fire. No one was injured.
