Court Date Set: Man Wanted in Series of Burglaries
A man who once lived in Lansdale will soon be in front of a Montgomery County Judge to answer for an alleged crime spree of theft, burglaries and identity theft that date back to 2005. Authorities say 37-year-old Haun Nguyen faces 22-felony charges stemming from burglaries at the silk factory lofts apartments in Lansdale in 2009. he was also connected to a 2005 jewelry heist in Philadelphia that netted 130-grand. Nguyen fled to Florida where he stole another man’s identity. Nguyen once lived at the silk factory apartments, but failed to pay his rent. various items belonging to residents were found in his loft. he also threatened his then girlfriend after she noticed a box of items and gun in his possession. Nguyen faces a may 16th court date.
Lansdale Man Killed in Early Morning Crash
Pennsylvania State Police say a Lansdale man, who was a passenger in a Honda Civic, was thrown from the car after it hit a utility pole in Salford Township just after 12am Tuesday. Troopers arrived on the scene to find the car sliced down the middle after it impacted the utility pole. State Police say, 21-year-old, Ryan Petrille, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene on Route 563, in the area of Sugar Hill Road. The Driver, 21-year-old Sean Sperl, also of Lansdale, was treated at the hospital for his injuries. According to accident investigation, speed was a factor in the crash.
