A doctor who worked out of a Lafayette Hill office is in some hot water with authorities after being accused of writing prescriptions to drugs to three drug-dependent patients. Court records show that people who visited the office of doctor Michael Rosen referred to him as “doctor feel good.”  After interviewing patients, dating back to 2011, police found that Rosen would prescribe drugs to patients even if they were not suffering from a particular condition, and he failed to check for symptoms. Rosen was released on bail after being arrested earlier this month on drug charges. Among the drugs Rosen prescribed, oxycodon and percocet. Rosen face a hearing may 21st  

A man who once lived in Lansdale will soon be in front of a Montgomery County Judge to answer for an alleged crime spree of theft, burglaries and identity theft that date back to 2005. Authorities say 37-year-old Haun Nguyen faces 22-felony charges stemming from burglaries at the silk factory lofts apartments in Lansdale in 2009. he was also connected to a 2005 jewelry heist in Philadelphia that netted 130-grand. Nguyen fled to Florida where he stole another man’s identity. Nguyen once lived at the silk factory apartments, but failed to pay his rent. various items belonging to residents were found in his loft. he also threatened his then girlfriend after she noticed a box of items and gun in his possession. Nguyen faces a may 16th court date.

Pennsylvania State Police say a Lansdale man, who was a passenger in a Honda Civic, was thrown from the car after it hit a utility pole in Salford Township just after 12am Tuesday. Troopers arrived on the scene to find the car sliced down the middle after it impacted the utility pole. State Police say, 21-year-old, Ryan Petrille, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene on Route 563, in the area of Sugar Hill Road. The Driver, 21-year-old Sean Sperl, also of Lansdale, was treated at the hospital for his injuries. According to accident investigation, speed was a factor in the crash.

Last week two homes in Franconia Township were burglarized. In one case, the perpetrators simply kicked the door in. Franconia Township Police Chief Joe Koseniewski, urges resident to be prepared when they’re not home. He recommends a good dead bolt steal door, and suggests another method of protection.

“Now the alarm systems with the current technology have become so much more affordable and more dependable they’re actually worth looking in to an investment there. If anyone wants to call the police department we have officers trained in crime prevention techniques that can offer them tips on how to harden their house.”

Chief Koseniewski says, some people still leave their doors unlocked. he says burglars often case homes by knocking on the door to see if anyone is home. if someone is home, they say they got the wrong house. If no one answers they simply open the door and walk in or try to break in.
