One man is dead as a result of a house fire in East Norriton.

It broke out around 1:30am Thursday at Barbara Drive and Denise Road, near Germantown Pike and North Wales Road and less than a mile from a fire that destroyed a home early Wednesday on Whitehall Road.

Firefighters found the victim on the second floor during a thorough search of the house.  The victim’s identity has not been released, and the state and local fire marshals are investigating the cause.
