GPS Leads To Construction Site Thief

A Philadelphia man has admitted stealing aluminum concrete forms from a Montgomery Township construction site.

After 40-year-old Brian Pierson pleaded guilty to felony theft a judge gave him 11 1/2 to 23 months in Montgomery County Prison and ordered him to pay more than $13,000 in restitution.

The forms were stolen on three dates in July from the Montgomery Walk development, but after the first theft concrete contractor Carl Pereira decided to let technology help him catch a thief.

A GPS device he hid with the forms was traced to a scrap metal dealer in the city, where surveillance cameras took Pierson’s picture.  He was arrested later outside a convenience store.
