Admitted Drug Dealer Gets State Prison Time
56-year-old Oliver Darden pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver cocaine and other offenses.
Prosecutors say he was selling the drug between November of 2008 and May of 2011 as part of a larger organization headed by 40-year-old Anthony Dennis of Montgomery Township.
35-year-old Michael Dennis of Philadelphia is also accused of conspiring with his brother in a multi-county cocaine-selling ring that operated out of “Heads Up,” a barbershop that Anthony Dennis ran in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township, in Chester County.
Unable to raise ten percent of his $500,000 bail, Michael Dennis remains in Montgomery County Prison. Anthony Dennis did raise ten percent of his $1 million bail, so he lives at home with his wife and children, but he’s wearing an ankle bracelet that keeps track of his whereabouts. He’s allowed to leave home for work, church and meetings with his lawyer. The Dennis brothers are awaiting trial.
They and Darden were among 27 people arrested in May of last year after a 2 1/2-year investigation.
