A Chalfont police officer who reported being shot early Monday morning now faces criminal charges himself.

31-year-old Jon Cousin is charged with filing a false report to law enforcement and other offenses.

A firearms expert from Montgomery County examined a slug lodged in the bulletproof vest he was wearing and found it was fired from Cousin’s gun, and Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler says the story he told about being shot in the parking lot at the Lenape Valley Swim Club was absolutely a lie and a hoax perpetrated by the officer.
