A handyman who worked in the Lansdale area is accused of breaking into a former customer’s home and stealing a change jar.

At the time of the theft about three weeks ago, a witness saw 29-year-old Jason Burg of Girard Avenue in Upper Gwynedd leave a vacationing neighbor’s home on West Mount Vernon Street in Lansdale and ride off on a yellow mountain bike.  He got away, but police spotted him about a week later on South Broad Street and the witness identified him.

Police say their investigation revealed that Burg had worked at the victim’s home and he knew the layout as well as the cars the residents drove.
