Trooper Charged In DUI Death
He ran his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck into the rear end of her Lincoln Town Car on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Upper Dublin Township, between the Willow Grove and Fort Washington Interchanges, when she pulled onto the shoulder because of engine trouble. Prosecutors say his blood alcohol level was .188, which is more than twice the legal limit for driving.
Witnesses say he had been drinking through the afternoon and into the night at the Five Ponds Golf Course in Warminster, where he took part in a charity golf outing in memory of Phebe Blessington of Hatboro, a singer who was killed at the age of 30 in a 1997 crash involving a drunken driver near the Warminster West Diner on Street Road.
