Vigil Held For Man Shot By Police
A police officer shot 26-year-old Michael Marino Junior of Quakertown on June 9 after he went down Clymer Avenue yelling obscenities, hitting cars and banging his head against signs. The officer said he shot when Marino lunged at him. He was unarmed, and one friend said the officer could have subdued him with pepper spray, a baton or a Taser.
Another friend also said he was handcuffed when the officer shot him. Police are not commenting on that. Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler says he is waiting until an investigation is finished before he decides whether the shooting was justified and whether the officer will face criminal charges.
