Cancer Con Woman Admits Another Crime
She made the phone call last summer from a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center after serving 11 1/2 months in Montgomery County Prison for the scam. Tolton pleaded guilty early last year to theft and forgery charges in the original crime.
Court documents say she routinely shaved her head to look like she was having chemotherapy, and she forged receipts from the Fox Chase Cancer Center for nonexistent treatments. She used the money to pay personal bills and feed a drug habit. The scam fell apart in October of 2010 when a family member became suspicious and called police.
