School Counselor Charged In Booze And Sex Case

An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Valley Forge Military Academy guidance counselor accused of giving three 17-year-old cadets alcohol. Symantha Hicks of Horsham allegedly gave it to them on two or more occasions in October, November and December and also engaged in sexual activity with a 16-year-old boy.  Radnor Township Police have charged her with corruption of minors and providing alcohol to minors, and the school has fired her.  Hicks is a 30-year-old married mother of three children with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Gwynedd-Mercy College.  Valley Forge Military Academy is a private school with grades seven through twelve plus a junior college.  It’s in Delaware County, just over the Montgomery County line.
