An Upper Gwynedd man is accused of trying to buy a $60,000 sports car with bad checks. Authorities say 22-year-old Gabriel Matthews went to Car Connections USA in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, last week and picked out a 2007 Maserati.  He wrote two checks to cover the cost, but when the dealership called to verify the checks the bank said the account was closed.  He then promised to return with another form of payment, drove off in the Maserati, and disappeared.
