An Upper Dublin woman has admitted causing cuts, bruises, welts and burns on her daughter’s body over a period of months, when the girl was about 1 1/2 to 3 years old.
53-year-old Theresa McNulty of Loch Alsh Avenue pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child and assault in connection with the incidents, which occurred between about April of 2008 and November of 2009. The guilty plea came shortly before her trial was scheduled to start in Montgomery County Court. Court documents say McNulty claimed the burns, caused by scalding hot bath water, were accidental. A judge has ordered her to have no further contact with the girl, who was adopted from Russia in 2007 and is now in foster care.
