Man Charged In Baby Son’s Death Pleads Not Guilty
A Towamencin Township man accused of killing his baby son entered a not guilty plea Thursday at his formal arraignment. 21-year-old Jameel East (pictured here) of Lantern Lane is charged with third degree murder in the death of three-month-old Enzo East in late June. A forensic pathologist who conducted an autopsy found that he died of blunt trauma to the head. Court documents say East initially gave police conflicting stories about how the injuries were accidental, but he finally told them he became overwhelmed after the baby vomited on him, so he went into the bathroom and struck his son’s head on a hard counter surface between two sinks. His trial will be scheduled later this year.
