No ARD For Woman Accused Of Leaving Children Unattended
A Telford woman accused of leaving her three young children alone in a bathtub filled with water has been denied entry into a pre-trial program that would let her avoid getting a criminal record.
That means 27-year-old Rathean Durant of North Main Street moves closer to trial on charges of endangering the welfare of children. Prosecutors say she was denied entry into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, or ARD, because of the nature and circumstances of her crime. Court documents say Telford Police went to her apartment in April of last year to serve a Protective Custody Order issued by a Montgomery County judge, but no one answered the door. Police eventually found her behind the building talking with a neighbor while the children, ages 1 and 2, soaked in the tub.
