Would-Be Copper Wire Thief Electrocuted In Bucks Co

Warrington Police say a man was electrocuted last week while trying to steal copper wire from a vacant building. 21-year-old Patrick Dembrowski of Bordentown, New Jersey was dead when officers arrived at the former Metco Manufacturing Company site at County Line Road and Titus Avenue.  It happened shortly before midnight on Tuesday, August 16.  They say he used bolt cutters to remove a lock from a chain-link fence marked with a sign warning of high voltage.  The electricity hit him when he tried to cut into the wiring inside an outdoor generator.  Warrington Police say copper wire theft is common, and the death should serve as a warning that it’s both illegal and dangerous.
