Accused Child Killer Will Waive Hearing

Souderton_GardenA Souderton man accused of raping and killing a girl who lived in the same apartment complex where he lived plans to waive his right to a preliminary hearing next week. His lawyer says 24-year-old James Lee Troutman will appear in court via videoconference from Montgomery County Prison, in part out of fear for his safety.  The district court where he was scheduled to appear is across the street from the crime scene.  He allegedly lured nine-year-old Skyler Kauffman to a basement laundry and storage room at the Souderton Gardens Apartments, and then raped her and beat her to death earlier this month.
