A former North Penn school administrator, who admitted giving two 13-year-old boys money and gifts to discuss their sexual activity, has been given 2 ½ to 5 years in state prison. 37-year-old Charles Hurst of Somerset Court in Montgomery Township pleaded guilty to corrupting minors earlier this year in Montgomery County Court.  He was Vice Principal at Pennbrook Middle School in Upper Gwynedd at the time of the incidents, between January of 2009 and August of 2010.  Assistant District Attorney Samantha Cauffman asked for prison time, saying he used his position of authority to manipulate the boys into thinking it was OK to talk with him and exchange text messages about sexual matters.  Defense lawyer Gregory Nester asked for a probationary sentence, saying his client has already suffered an enormous punishment, losing his career and his standing in the community.  Visiting Senior Judge John Braxton of Philadelphia told Hurst he offended the weakest members of the community, students and children, who found that the person they looked up to was perverted.
