A Bucks County woman has been ordered to stand trial for homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence in a crash that killed a man.
It happened on New Year’s Day of this year when she ran her Mazda into a line of trees on Bristol Road in Northampton. 46-year-old Catherine Amon and her passenger, 40-year-old Raymond Bloemker, had been living together at Amon’s Southampton home. Although they were in the process of breaking up, they celebrated the New Year together, drinking beer and champagne. She crashed into the trees at about 6:30am, just moments after leaving a friend’s home. Her blood alcohol level was more than .11, which is above the legal limit for driving, and she also tested positive for marijuana.
