Thefts Get Montco Man Federal Prison Time
A Montgomery County man who admitted stealing more than $5.5 million from LaSalle University in Philadelphia has been given one year in prison for each million dollars he took. 59-year-old Stephen Greb of Blue Bell worked there for more than 25 years. He pleaded guilty last month to theft, forgery and other offenses for allegedly authorizing payments of school funds to a phony food company that he controlled. Authorities say the thefts went on for more than 20 years. He was Director of Auxiliary Services, including food service and the student store. Greb was fired in June of last year after an invoice control system turned up irregularities. A $2.5 million beach home he owned in Avalon, New Jersey has been turned over to LaSalle. He has also given the school $300,000 in cash as partial restitution.
