Fourth Teen Charged In Hate Vandalism
Four teenagers now face criminal charges for hate-related vandalism on Nectar Run in the Pear Tree Village development in Franconia.
The charges include ethnic intimidation, criminal mischief, trespassing, prowling at night and related offenses. 18-year-old Colin Ford of Upper Mainland Road in Lower Salford was arrested Monday. A 17-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl who were arrested last week are being processed in juvenile court. Their names have not been released because of their age. Franconia Township Police say a resident came home early Saturday morning, February 5, and found swastikas, the word “Jew” and an ethnic slur painted on the home and two cars parked in the driveway. The family living in the home is of Jewish descent. Court documents say the two girls were friends with the homeowner’s son, but the two boys did not like him.
