A man who was convicted of killing three Montgomery County women and one small girl is appealing his three death sentences, even though he said at the time of his sentencing that he wanted to die. Former supermarket clerk John Eichinger, now 38 years old, wants either a new trial or a new penalty phase.  He argues in his appeal that his trial lawyer was ineffective, and should have used evidence that he suffers from brain damage.  He was found guilty of first degree murder in the stabbing deaths of 28-year-old Heather Greaves, her 21-year-old sister Lisa, and Heather’s three-year-old daughter, Avery Johnson, at their King of Prussia home on Good Friday of 2005.  He was sentenced to death by lethal injection for those three killings.  Eichinger was also convicted of killing 20-year-old Jennifer Stills at her Bridgeport apartment in 1999, and he got life in prison without parole for that murder.  All four victims were stabbed with the same knife.
