Woman Accused Of Defrauding Crime Victims Fund

fattakhovaA Bucks County woman is accused of submitting phony invoices to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and getting paid for treatments she never received. 27-year-old Elena Fattakhova (pictured here) of Southampton is charged with forgery, theft, tampering with public records and other offenses.  As a victim of a 2005 assault, she was entitled to reimbursement for medical treatment through the Victims Compensation Fund.  Court documents say she requested and got reimbursement for more than $10,000 worth of chiropractic treatment over a period of more than two years, when in reality she paid out-of-pocket for only about $4,000 worth of treatment.  The state attorney general’s office says she obtained nearly $7,000 fraudulently.
