Woman Accused Of Defrauding Crime Victims Fund
A Bucks County woman is accused of submitting phony invoices to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and getting paid for treatments she never received.
27-year-old Elena Fattakhova (pictured here) of Southampton is charged with forgery, theft, tampering with public records and other offenses. As a victim of a 2005 assault, she was entitled to reimbursement for medical treatment through the Victims Compensation Fund. Court documents say she requested and got reimbursement for more than $10,000 worth of chiropractic treatment over a period of more than two years, when in reality she paid out-of-pocket for only about $4,000 worth of treatment. The state attorney general’s office says she obtained nearly $7,000 fraudulently.
